SOUND EXCHANGE
with Amy Stacey Curtis

Amy Stacey Curtis proposed that she in Portland, ME record nine sounds representing to her geographic area and that I in San Francisco, CA record nine sounds representing my geographic area. We then mailed our sounds to each other and made drawings from the recordings we received. The work is on exhibit at Grothaus + Pearl Gallery in Kansas City, MO through February 24th, 2007.

My drawings were made in San Francisco locations, which correlated to Amy's recorded sounds. My drawings represent the my perception of the sound, my specific location and the sensations and feelings brought about by the act of listening.
